Kinja'd!!!

Will be a Gen 1 Lightning.

There’s been a hole in my soul since I totaled mine... Of the 60ish cars I’ve owned, it wasn’t the fastest or the best handling, but it had that intangible, undefinable “something”. As James May would say, it gave me the fizz. The sound through the dual Magnaflows... The way the seats felt against my back... The way the wheel felt perfectly in my hand... It was the last vehicle I owned that really beckoned me to get lost for hours on backroads.

Pour out a 40...

There’s a guy a few blocks from me that DDs a Typhoon. Oh how I’d love to drive either of those models. Jay Leno also owns a Syclone.

These things are cool. I personally would take the 2nd generation, but there is something so simple and good looking about the 1st gen and the SS454.

those GMC’s were quite the oddball and pretty much a complete 180 to Chevy and its 454SS pickups.

I want to like the second gen... It’s just I have a deep-seated hatred for the ‘97-’04 F150.

I agree that I don’t like that generation of fords, but that was a legitimately fast truck. I had a friend with one and it was way too much fun. It got him arrested a few times and he lost his license twice while he owned it. He ended up trading it for a bright yellow Evo.

If I could fit in a Syclone, it would be on my list of dream cars. The Typhoon would be if I didn’t have a terrible experience with an S10 Blazer at a younger age.

Legitimately fast, indeed! They’re amazing trucks, for sure, and I know my prejudice is superficial. I just can’t get past my disdain for modular engines, that lumpy dash, and the DILLIGAF-level build quality.

I remember when that happened. Very sad :(

I saw one recently, for the first time in a while, but it was pretty rusty.

That’s a big problem with finding another. There’s a lot of morons with 250,000 mile rust buckets spouting “RARE! ONLY 12.53 MADE! SOOPER PHAST! I NO WUT I HAV! $14,500 FIRM! NO LOWBAWLSSSRTEFFCXCGGHJ!”

Kinja'd!!!

Mmmmm, gimme all them curves.

I’m one of those strange people that loves the 10th gen F-150's, I think they look fantastic (although not in the same way the OBS Fords do), I love my 5.4, and I think the build quality is fine, mine is still in great shape after 18 years and 200,000 miles. The only things that are broken are some dash clips which resulted from removing the dash, or portions of it, multiple times. My ‘99 has actually held up much better than my dad’s ‘09, which has been nothing but a letdown.

My opinions are just opinions. ;)

I also had an 11th gen F150. They came close to greatness, but the 3v 5.4 can go straight to hell.

Agreed, the 3v is an amazing engine, until it eats itself.

An engineering marvel, and a maintenance nightmare!
