I’m not familar with the debate on the FP. From what I read there were a few concerns. 1. There are a handful of gaurds protecting this, (they can’t be everywhere)
If the guards fail to prevent a boarding, such as during a swarm attack, you now have a firefight onboard, whereas in the past the crew was valuable ransom. 2. the quality and training of the guards is also a question. Similar to blackwater in Iraq, there was/is a general fear that these private gaurds or mercenaries are only going to be shot at for so long before starting offensive operations
