Scored a Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite on Craigslist. Replaced the old Cisco WRT160N V3 I’ve been running Tomato on for years. I suspected the router was a slight bottleneck on our Comcast bandwidth due to its performance, but the actual difference turned out to be not small. We just went from max download speeds of around 65Mbps to a sustained 129Mbps.
I immediately verified this finding with a 10GB Steam download.
As a bonus, our wireless capability is now being supplied by a Netgear WNDR3700 running Gargoyle that was part of the same deal. $60 all in, possibly the biggest upgrade per dollar I’ve ever realized.

I just setup two of these for a point to point vpn for a client. They work pretty well. I run a pfsense appliance at home and just swapped out the firewall at work for one. The ubiquiti would be by second choice though.
