I just realized its been over a year since the Safari drove away and never came back. I wonder if the years of neglected maintenance after my mom got the Vue ever caught up to it.

Kinja'd!!!

If I had to guess? The damn thing will be on the road another 10 years from now. Rust nowhere except the roof, barely able to maintain 70mph on the freeway, gold pinstripes outliving the paint.

Clatter on, you unkillable asshole.

The Astro/Safari twins and Chrysler cars with slant 6s and 727 transmissions are what cockroaches will be driving long after humanity vanishes.

I actively tried to kill that thing and it just laughed in my face. It was driven around for a unknown amount of time with little to no coolant and the oil at least a quart low and at least 3 years old.

It’s hard to kill a 4.3. I drove mine for an undisclosed amount of time around 2 quarts low on oil and there was no noticeable difference in performance.

The Safari may well outlive us all.
