That’s always a good feeling!

Of course, since it’s a BMW, now it’s going to explode.

Thank you, that is certainly the plan and hope.

True... On the positive side I just got a check for $1497 from BMW USA for the fuel injectors. At least they do pay up when they make a part that they know an earlier engineering release of wasnt up to par.

As a second summer only car that gets 3000-4000 miles a year it’s not bad.

I was just kidding. I actually have had good luck with my BMWs in the past, so I can’t really complain. Honda’s have actually been the least reliable cars I’ve owned, though I’ve only had the Fiat for half a year....

I’ve heard the horror stories, though if you’re handy that’s where they’re not bad. The labor hours can be a killer, but the part prices themselves online are surprisingly reasonable. My dad’s 2003 E46 he’s had since new has 105K on the clock and has never had an issue. I think with BMW’s it’s an aversion to the cost to maintain, if you do that they’re great. Shockingly if you ignore maintenance on a more expensive car it gets expensive then people say “who knew”. Good luck with the Fiat, what model? I do want a Giulia for my next daily (currently a GTI), though I may cave in and go SUV.

I’m a pretty accomplished mechanic, or just a complete mad man, but yeah, they’re like any other car. Maintain them and/or fix them yourself, and it’s fine.

I’ve got a 2013 500 Abarth Cabrio. It’s a bag of fun.

What model years does that injector warranty pertain to?

Was standard 07-10 N54 only, but they included at least MY2011 335is/1M/Z4 35is. Not sure about 2012-13.

Go to BMW-RP.com and type in the last 7 of your VIN. They’ll also cover the parts if you do the work yourself like I did.

That’ll come when the GTI lease is up. I’ll be keeping the 335is for a long time hopefully.

Damn, apparently 335i’s with a production date of 7/27/09 or later get the warranty... mine is 7/10/09. No luck!

Wait, seriously?? I knew they had one for MY09 and earlier already they had to add the later model years. Are yours leaking?

No, my car hasn’t been giving me any issues lately. I’m gonna call the number on that site and see what they can do. If I can buy new injectors, do the work myself, and get reimbursed for the parts I’d be very happy.

I’m having trouble finding good info on the warranty.. all forum posts seem to just contradict each other.

Did the website for BMW-RP.com not give an option for the last 7 of your VIN? There can be multiple options in the drop down tab.

It did, after entering it said my car wasn’t valid for the recall.. it’s strange because E90 335i’s with the same production date are.. yet the E92 isn’t.

That’s extremely weird. Maybe try calling the number, the call center people were actually extremely helpful.

Yeah, I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Now, I’m very glad my car has been reliable so far, but I still definitely want to take advantage of the recall while I can, if possible.

My car has been as well, I only put in for reimbursement because cylinder 1 spark plug was fuel fouled and they covered it even though I didn’t have a misfire. Better safe than sorry if they’re covering it.

Exactly, better safe than sorry!

Any mods planned for the 335is?
