In a week time, I’ll be driving to an aunt of my mother, who happens to live about 1,5 hours away from Toronto. I’ll be visiting her, because it is a while ago since she last visited us in the Netherlands (she moved to Canada in the 60s), and I found it a nice gesture to pay her a visit now.

Anyhow, since she lives somewhat remotely, I was thinking about renting a car, and driving there. But since rental companies tend to be expensive over here (especially for me, as I’m 22) I was thinking about using Turo. So should I just rent a car through a rental company, rent through Turo, or should I abandon the driving idea and have her pick me up at the nearest train station(which she offered)?

Thanks for your time, have this Seat Leon I saw on the Nürburgring for your time.

How many days would you be renting for? Also renting from turo usually comes with limits on mileage, would want to double check to make sure that you wouldn’t exceed it.

Any decent roads on the way there? Otherwise, I’d just take the train (if the nearest train station doesn’t mean an hour drive for your mom’s aunt).

2 or 3 days. Yeah, I’ll make sure to look at cars with high enough mileage constraints.

You’re right about it being expensive to rent cars here in North America for people your age. The first car I rented was in Europe, I was 23 at the time.

Yeah, Europe seems to be way less expensive for that.

There are somewhat nice roads if I take a detour (well actually the roads are not super nice, but the views are). The train station is about 30 minutes from her home, so I guess it’s doable.
