Cause I’ve always wanted a Subaru, and now thanks to my wife, I has one. 07 Legacy Outback 2.5i with an eye watering 249,800 miles on it, and a 5 speed. Awesome. It looks well cared for, has new belts, tires, recently replaced cats and timing service, wheels apparently from a wrx, and the front cloth seats have been recovered with leather......for a 10 year old car with this sort of mileage, it’s remarkably clean, especially coming from the north, I fully expected a rustbucket, but the corrosion is minimal. Even the a/c blows like ice..... although it does have a problem with the clutch making a rrrrrrrrrrrr noise, I am gonna fix that and be happy, cause for $2k I couldn’t have done much better.

eh... if it made it to 250k without dying... itll probably go forever (least thats what i always say)
provided you care for it obviously
(course that said... ive never owned a car that made it that far.... closest i got was my 88 diesel gallant... wich made it to 220k before the crankshaft snapped... wasnt worth fixing as the car was worth about $4 by then..)

That was kinda my thinking...for it to be that clean with that sort of mileage in only 10 years it’d have to have been properly maintained or it would already have fallen apart.
