It’s so forgettable, people forget about it when people ask them what the most generic car is. Full Oppo review coming sometime tomorrow or the day after. Because here at Oppo...

Kinja'd!!!

Grabbed this from the internet, because “mine” has fucked up paint and interior that doesn’t deserve to be photographed (Meaning I’m to lazy to take my own picture of it.)

Kinja'd!!!

The car that out Cameryed the Camery (IMO).

Don’t worry. I’m going to do my best to do a honest review. I’m not just going to shit on it for 200 words because it’s boring.

I rented one of those for work when they were new, blue with the v6 and 5spd auto. It was a bit of a sleeper. The seats were too squishy and it was a bit floaty but it kick down nice and get to 85 quickly.

I know two different people who own these. Both 2007. One silver with the V6 and leather interior, the other black with the I4 and cloth interior. The I4 is over 200K miles and still going strong. The V6 is around 125K miles and is crazy clean. I’ve worked on both and they seem pretty solid.

There are no bad timing belts. Only bad parts manufactures and mechanics. -Confucius

True, if you manufacture one well enough it won’t break.

Like if you make it out of metal.

And it’s a chain.

I’ve heard nothing bad about Hyundai’s reliability. The one I “have” is the I4 with cloth interior. For more of my thoughts click the link to autodoug.com/mediumsteer

AutoDoug’s MediumSteer column is okay, but I find DougTrader’s OverHeifer column to be a little more relevant to my interests.

I’ll bite. I had a Delta-engine Hyundai with 67.5k timing belt intervals and an interference design for several years. Hyundai dealers had it down to a science and would run specials to change them for like $300 while you waited. As long as you just changed them a little early at 60k the motors are bulletproof. Sure it sounds like a lot of hassle, but considering that all those motors really need is oil and filters, belts every 60k and spark plugs every 100k to last forever they really aren’t bad. It’s no worse than my Subarus needing spark plugs that are a pain to get to every 60k.

Chains break and lose tension. Or, in GM’s case (like the 2.4L EcoTec in the malibu, equinox, terrain, verano, and others) the runners and guides weren’t designed right and fail, causing the timing chain to not work as planned, and FUBAR the engine if the owner is the type to not check their oil every gas fill-up.
