Been researching ways to do some OEM upgrades for the Maxima. First on the to do list are some period correct 16" or 17" Nissan wheels for the summer. Naturally what comes to mind are Z32 five-spoke wheels.

Interestingly my winter tires are already on 300ZX alloys. 15" Z31 Turbofans like this:

I’ll keep them the way they are because Turbofans look rallye and are generally awesome.

Also on the agenda is a 3.0 swap, but keeping the “Twin Cam 2000“ ignition coil covers to fool the authorities lol.

Z32 Wheels are quite attainable on Ebay, will see what a VQ30 goes for.

Why no vq35?

Why not stop modding your cars by stuffing them into solid objects first? Sorry, had to be done.

That being said, are you planning on coming to Wales?

I could also go for a VQ40 with VQ35 heads but those will be more difficult to attain in euro.

Did I crash the Maxima?

Don’t know. I have a lot less money freely available since I am on my own.

vq40 with vq35 heads is exactly what I wanted in my r50 pathfinder but obviously I wasnt going to drop any money into that thing. Im now a j32 man but who doesnt love a good vq. I always wished the early vq35 maximas had the same suspension setup as the older cars. Would have been the best maxima gen in my opinion.

If I remember correctly, you are somewhat close to Hamburg, right? I could give you a ride. We don’t neccessariliy have to go full on halfsies on fuel and such since I will go past there anyways.

The J30 is still the last to have independent rear suspension funnily. My early A32 may have a multi-link rear but its a multi-link beam axle.

Ihad a 2000 Maxima on 17 inch 350z rims. Gots pics somewhere but I’ve posted them here before to lazy to search. Also had a set of 18 inch g35 rims but the were too flashy like the 350's better even though they weighed a ton. Also had a 95 maxima but never really did anything to that one because it was an auto so it was just a comfy cruiser/winter beast with snow tires. H

Edit I got motivated here a link but http://oppositelock.kinja.com/had-to-dig-up-photos-of-my-old-nissans-1594644095 the z on the pic was where o got the rims from I’ll find a pic with them on

You’d be better served going with an HR VQ35 or a VQ37 over a VQ40 with VQ35 heads IMO. The intake manifold, stronger internals, and better flowing heads are worth it.
