I still can’t “get” funny cars. They’d look 10000x cooler if they weren’t trying to look like a production car.
Actually I don’t think this is quite a full-on “funny car” but it’s a fiberglass “hey yeah that looks kinda like a corvette if you’re drunk enough” shell on a tube frame. Meh.

I mean, it’s a street legal race car, it’s pretty awesome in my book. When you’re running 6 second quarters and can still drive 1000 miles in a weekend I’m impressed.

I’ve been watching the Drag Week live feed all week and I’m really hoping he can get a win. He spun that car at the top end last year and nosed it into the wall pretty hard. Rebuilt it and entered again this year. He’s been coming to Drag Week for quite a few years and to see him win it would be awesome.
Also, He’s averaging something like 6.70 @ 200 after 3 days so far.

It’s a production Corvette body with a lift-off nose.
“Production” meaning it has a Chevy VIN on it and is factory dimensions. All Corvettes are fiberglass. Sooo......
