This is some serious non-sense coming from “professional” journalists.

Kinja'd!!!

Freddie Gray article

Their exact words.

Kinja'd!!!

There wasn’t a shot fired in the Freddie Gray case. As their own article admits (and the one they linked), he died from injuries from the ride in the van. What the fuck are they doing saying a shooting?

This one’s less egregious, but still insane for people who get paid money to write for a living.

Kinja'd!!!

*periods equal claps

I. CAN’T. MOTHER. FUCKIN’. EVEN.

It was there when I read it this morning and I went back just now. AND IT’S STILL THERE.

Get your shit together.

Sure they get paid, but they don’t get paid much.

Wait, if their all about socialism shouldn’t they at least get paid a living wage? Or is it like how Gawker wouldn’t bring on William Clavey because they didn’t wanna deal with a non US citizen lol.

If you etch away at the Splinter logo, you’ll start to find something else:

The funniest thing about this post is that on the oppo FP when I see the Splinter image it has been shortened to LINT. This seems very appropriate in the light of your post...

I was thinking the same. Very appropriate.

because Univision didn’t change anything to address one of Gawker’s biggest flaws. All of their authors are more or less children . A bunch of maybe 20-somethings crammed into an open-plan in NYC and kept fat dumb and happy on catered meals and told to write about what they feel . ‘cos that’s all people care about anymore is how they feel.

I always fond it funny when people call out spelling errors, but then write things like “non-sense”, and use “their” instead of “they’re”.

If “their” about socialism? I think you meant “they’re”.

1) I was drunk and it was past midnight when I wrote this.

2) I don’t get paid to post on Oppo.

3) Mixing up their’s isn’t nearly as bad as typing a completely different word.

I’ll give you the first two. But you’re wrong on number three. Most spelling errors on computers/phones are the result of accidentally hitting or not hitting the correct keys. Using the wrong their/there/they’re means you don’t actually know what the word means. Personally, I really don’t give a shit about grammar on the internet.

Wait a minute (granted I’m drunk again) I was correct! (in the original post)

They’re is a contraction of “there are” and “their” implies possession. So I was correct. “There are exact words” wouldn’t have made sense (I’ll get to that next) and wouldn’t have implied possession, which I was implying. The second use of “their” was pretty similar too.

Also

Kinja'd!!!

Granted the hyphen was unnecessary, but using “since” wouldn’t have worked as since is about measuring time.

“Things haven’t been the same since....”

So my drunk grammar is still better than Splinter’s!

What are you talking about?

“They’re” is a contraction of “they” and “are”, not “there” and “are”.

Also, the sentence you referenced isn’t where you used “their” instead of “they’re”. You don’t even know where you screwed up.

You really thought about this all day and came up with that?

Like I said, I couldn’t care less about grammar. I’m more concerned with cops killing unarmed people.
