Well, after almost buying a GTI earlier, just due to it being a steal, I’ve put down a deposit on the car we’ve thought about buying all along.
2016, CPO with the GT trim in “Soul red” and the tech pack. Fully loaded and stickered at $27K (Canadian) and I put a deposit on it for $24.5K (Canadian) making it officially the most I’ve ever spent on a car.
It’s not exciting or anything but will preserve my Fiesta ST and be a good mile mule.
Stealership rating: 7/10 - pretty scummy

Could’ve, but gas is $1.40 a litre right now where I live and all I need is basically an appliance that is nice to sit in to mile out and dispose of in 2 or so years.
I have my Fiesta ST still, that’s all that counts to me.

I forget how expensive gas is outside the US. The machine I got to rack up the miles on is certainly not an appliance:
That said, I can see me keeping this thing and putting a stupid amount of miles on it. I’ve already put 14k on it in 6 months.

I’m happy, but it is just a mile mule on my 90KM per day commute.
I like it fine, looks wise and it drives non-offensivly.
But it doesn’t drive or handle like my Fiesta ST and I don’t love it dearly like my 1986 Dodge Ram.
It’s just metal and plastic to me.

Mine only has 42k on it and it’s a 2011. Assuming that you don’t have to replace the rod bearings or the throttle position actuators, it shouldn’t be too bad. I mean it’s an M car so it’s not cheap, but it really isn’t that bad. Davesaddiction has a 105k mile 2008 E90 M3 and I think his hasn’t been outrageous.

I owned one of these for a couple years. I can tell you they’re a blast in the snow with the right tires (snows, obvs). The AWD is more predictive and will push power to the back before it needs it. In the snow, it drives like an AWD. Super fun. It’s not fast, but it has quick enough response to make things fun.
