I have no clue how to actually mount these. YouTube videos seem to be mainly simple bolt-on manual mirrors, where you just drill holes for bolts. These have a spring loaded plate that would seem to go inside the fender, with the rubber base mirror on top of the fender, and the spring essentially holding the mirror to the plate and fender. Has anyone dealt with these?

We had crazy thunderstorms here yesterday, which is unheard of. I was out on the Vespa when it it.

It looks to me like there’s meant to be some sort of mount inside/under the fender that it’s bolted to.

I don’t have any personal experience with these, but it looks like there’s supposed to be a shallow pocket stamped in the fender to support the top of the spring. (That is leftover fender material on them, right? Looks like they cut them out and folded the edges over to avoid cuts.)

I guess it makes sense, to have a reinforcing dimple there instead of just flat sheet metal. So if your fenders don’t have that, then I think you’ll want to re-use those fender remnants for support underneath.

IMO:

Call Nikon. He might be able to hook you up with a slick way to do it. Like creating rubber pads for the mirrors to sit on and doing a minimal amount of drilling.
