Time attack is next level. The unlimited class cars are easily the most extreme racing machines built on production-based unibodies today. They make more raw poundage of downforce at a given speed than any other race cars on the planet. Yes; that includes Formula 1, Le Mans prototypes and all the other ultra-fast machines of their type.
Because the goal is to get the single fastest lap possible, time attack race teams have figured out they don’t need superfluous equipment like, say, an alternator. The “Team America” BNR32 time attack car was built with a “full discharge” electrical system. No onboard charging at all. A potent little lithium battery can keep the car going for 20 minutes at a time, more than enough since the minuscule fuel tank runs out in less than 10 minutes at race speed.
They are some truly wild machines.

That Sagaris is a pre-prod prototype, the real thing is less venty ;)
An MR2 isn’t very venty. It has some side vent but the bum vent is fake. There’s a boot between the vent and the engine.
