I lived in NY from the late 90s to the late aughts, and in the summer of 2001 we had a summer house in the Hamptons (a real crappy house, not fancy at all). Four Irish girls lived there for the summer working in restaurants on a special visa that is available to Irish college students.
They spent the last week living with some of us in Manhattan. On the 10th, the went to Windows on the World around 9AM. Only because they were supposed to fly out early afternoon of the 11th.
Needless to say they didn’t fly out for a few weeks. But I still remember them asking whether they should keep the ticket stubs or not. I think they tossed them as not something they wanted to hang on to.
