Kinja'd!!!

This 2017 Nissan Sentra that I have been awarded for this week is a turd, plain and simple. But it is a car and as such I have found a way to enjoy it. As with all CVTs I only apply full throttle at all times just to hear that terrible whine and sit at 6000 rpms for like ten seconds while it “rockets” to 60mph. I kind of want to hear a CVT car with an obnoxious exhaust, it would be deafening for sure!

Anyways, I took the car down a dirt road on the way home just because it’s impossible not to have fun on dirt. While it was just a short section and other cars about halfway through, I did finally get the tires loose. Now I determined I need to find some more dirt roads!

I’m mad that my CG lock won’t fit the seat belt because I wanted to fix the falling out of the non bolstered seat problem. But this way is more entertaining I guess. I’ve attempted to hit every pot hole I can find as well to test out the suspension. Very comfortable over bumps, needs more testing.

So, is there a Rallycross anywhere near you this weekend?

I only have it for during the week. If I had to suffer through the weekend with it, 100% I would be doing an autocross or track day or ideally a rally cross if I could find one. But those are more rare around here.

If I didn’t have work tomorrow and like no available vacation time, I’d totally consider the local track night in America.

Damn, you really are hell bent on making this car give it up. I expect a detailed and highly entertaining review when it’s over.

Fuck that, this car isn’t worth that effort lol. But I will half assedly review it based on some ridiculous scale that I will invent. It’s got like less than 10k miles on it so that’s like under 100k still in rental car miles so it won’t break as long as the shiny side stays up.

Better to be rid of that thing - I’ve had a couple of Versas as rentals (don’t, they’re even worse) and couldn’t wait to get rid of them.

Make your own Rallycross!

What do you mean it’s not worth the effort to review a rental Sentra?

Well put, I shall just make a post that hyperlinks to yours and say ”DITTO”. It’s fucking insane of Nissan to be able to compare the car to a 1995 version and talk about how the 90s car is faster!! Shame on them for that. It’s laughable to compare it to something like Honda where the Civic has improved so much and become almost too nice but still starts at a low price as well.

I mean, it is utter garbage; it’s comically slow and terrible to drive. I mean I get I would rather be in a 201X Sentra for a crash, but then at the same time it needs more power to deal with the extra bulk. Comical is about the perfect word to describe the Nissan lineup of recent.

Yeah thats what I dont get. Underpowered cars these days are cars with 200hp. They weigh too much to have less than that. And its not like it even gets AMAZING gas mileage. If I am only getting like 35mpg on the highway, I am sure that 1995 Sentra could have gotten at least that in manual trim. I expect like 40+ if I have to deal with that bad of a power penalty.

My current goal is to get the lowest average mileage possible without cheating by letting it idle for hours on end.
