An F-107A “Ultra Sabre” doing some donuts on the Edwards lakebed.

Actually, this is the result of a ground loop during testing in 1959.

I understand why they built the F-107 they way they did, and I’m sure the seat would have worked (probably) if you had to eject, but that overhead intake still lights up my “Nope!” signal something fierce.

It’s a really big bird, too. I got to see it up close at the USAF Museum this past summer. It looked like they stenciled the entire flight manual on the side of the a/c.
