It seems far-fetched but could this be designed in to some degree? Not for coyotes specifically obviously but a coyote is pretty comparable in size to an average domestic dog. You know, maybe they designed the lower fascia to give Fido a chance if you accidentally hit him

My guess would be washer fluid, the bottle is sometimes in the front bumper somewhere and it can be orange. Or if anything Toyota red coolant, doesn’t look at all like ATF or blood

It looks like ATF on my screen. Considering many cars now have the A/C condenser and transmission cooler as one unit ahead of the radiator its plausible.
