Someone broke into the Cadillac

We went camping this weekend. I went out this morning to go to work and the car was unlocked. Driver door was cracked open (thank god for low voltage cutoff). Interior was ransacked, but they didn’t even take the easy-to-grab-because-it’s-not-held-in-by-anything radio. In fact they didn’t take a thing. Just opened all the bits and rifled through my shit

They did further destroy my glovebox though trying to get to the trunk release. Funny thing is, all that work and all they’d be rewarded with is the original 1994 radio

I’m disappointed. They could’ve easily taken that JVC piece of shit and given me another reason to get a new unit. Oh well, maybe next time

You sure they didn’t steal your authentic 1960's Les Paul Guitar worth thousands of dollars that you picked up at a pawn shop earlier that night?

‘94 Caddy? I’d be curious to see a photo.

Crutchfield has some fair dinkum Kenwood head units for under $100.

And shithead punks.

A group of kids went around my neighborhood a few months ago doing the same thing. Actually captured good video of each of them with my dash cam, though police were useless.

They only got into the one unlocked car and all they stole was a tazer belonging to my GF.

When I was a kid the family hand-me-down car was a POS Buick LeSabre with windows that wouldn’t roll up. My brother and I went to the mall one weekend and when we returned the car (with its open windows) had been broken into. Only thing they stole was a cassette out of the deck. Dumb crooks. It was a cassette filled with contemporary Christian music.

I don’t understand - thieves accomplished nothing. The one time my car (300D) was broken into they stole every single Bob Seger tape I had. No interest in Bach, Beethoven, or Motown ... replaced a passenger side window.

Too bad your dash cam didn’t capture when they started playing with the tazer.

Accomplished nothing. Broke nothing (that wasn’t already broke lol) . All they did was rummage through and further ensure my glovebox will never open.

Here’s the car’s introduction thread

I’m wanting to get a nice double-din CarPlay unit. Sure, they cost about as much as an iPhone themselves, but it’d be nice

Nope. Driver lock cylinder doesn’t even work. Pretty sure they pried the glass out (frameless doors FTW?) just enough to hit the unlock button with a hanger or something

Kids these days can’t pick a lock anyway

Kids stole my vintage scooter a couple of years ago. They didn’t know that all they needed to start it was a flat blade screwdriver or any kind of key remotely the same size. They kicked in the headlights and tried to hotwire it. No electric starter!!! 5-0 found it abondoned in a field once they were done with it.

Stock pic, but it looked pretty much like this.

You could buy a Kenwood single-din with an adapter for less than $100. I’ve had three of them so far. What also really makes a difference is dumping the paper cone factory speakers for some middling coaxials, but maybe your Cad came with better speakers.
