I highly recommend the 2016 CR-V. In fact, the cargo space in the rear sold us. We told the salesman we were considering the Hyundai and Toyota etc etc and wise salesman said “let me get those and line them up for you”, and he did. He lined up the competitors’ SUVs and we opened all the doors and instantly the lower trunk in the CR-V was apparent.

It will fit a set of 18in Legacy Spec B wheels and tyres with ease. Room too spare! Highly recommend. I rate it:

oh those wheels? they’re going on the Impreza.

18s are big! but hopefully with a little lowering, and a 40 sidewall instead of the 45 they will look goot. I shall actually mount them sometime this week and get a good side on shot and do a little ms-paint lowering to confirm. If all else fails back to craigslist the wheels will go :D

A reminder of my render of the overall plan for the Impreza project.

Love the wheels. Do not love that random red spoke on the pic.

My family owns a 2016 CRV EX and it’s pretty good coming from the 2002 they had before. My issues with it are the parking brake digs into my shin when I rest my foot on the dead pedal (terrible location) and the touch screen interface SUCKS. Constantly have to take your eyes off the road. Also there is no pause button on the steering wheel only Source for some reason. Also the interface lockout on some functions when you are moving is totally stupid. Crawling in 4 MPH traffic I could not pair my phone via bluetooth because anytime I would start and traffic would move an inch the entire thing would back out and say “This function is not available while in motion” or some stupid nonsense.

I’ll second the parking brake location issue.

I’ve been mildly annoyed by the phone issue on a roadtrip, it needs a button like WAAAAAAAY over on the passenger side for “I am a passenger and just trying to play DJ let me sync my phone while doing 75mph”

I do reserve the right to change my mind if I saw it in motion.

in motion the silver and red will blur together to make a glorious pink, I expect

I even stuck my head down there to see if there was some sort of adjustment that could be made and didn’t find anything. How it got past testing is beyond me.

The infotainment system is just a chore to use sometimes, I can’t stand touch screens and I also can’t stand in motion lockouts. I spent more time diddling with it while trying to pair my phone then was truly necessary due to the lockout.

Here’s something Honda can learn from ze’ Germans. In my Benz and my friends 328xi I can pair my phone without taking my eyes off the road by memorizing the amount of clicks/scrolls/button presses on the knob that controls the infotainment.

This is a huge selling point of the E46 wagon if you ask me. Granted, you’re not getting much else in there. But you can comfortably put 4 full-sized tires/wheels in the back and close the door, you’ll even need some padding to keep them from moving around.

My 82 year old parents have a 2016 CR-V, which is serving them well. My mom hates the touch screen with a passion, and just refuses to use it. Whatever radio station is playing, that’s what stays on while she is driving. I was surprised at how little the dimensions have changed from the 1997 CR-V my wife & I owned to the new ones. They are less than a couple of inches longer & wider now, but interior cargo space has increased over 8 cubic feet with the seats up. Probably because they got rid of the removable picnic table.

we have the base base base model, no touch screen. it’s perfectly normal car radio with buttons and such.
