Kinja'd!!!

Took a lovely back roads drive with my partner to look at this wagon today. Turns out it has been sitting for a year and is rougher than it appeared in the pics.

Kinja'd!!!

It meeded to be jumped, and would not stay running with the jumper cables removed, thosgh the fuel-injected 5.0 did idle smoothly.

In talking about it they let slip that the last person to come look at it was months ago.

Part of me says it needs too much work before i can drive it, and another part says i can probably get the thing for $500 (rhey are asking $1000) as it is clear they want it gone and haven’t had much interest.

I’m buying another toy, so there isn’t any rush. So i guess I’ll think on it.

I know you said it looked rougher in person than in pictures but if they’ll bite at $500 that looks like a deal.

yeah, it’s right on that edge between savable and just need some work and a complete piece of shit beater that’s going to end up in a junkyard. It needs rust repair in at least three doors and the rear quarters both need significant rot repair. And there may be issues under the rocker molding. One window doesn’t work and another is slow. The rear tailgate is almost impossible to open. And in addition to the battery and/or alternator being bad, there is a mystery power drain. And one tire was flat from sitting

But the interior is really nice, and the engine runs smooth.

Yeah, the extent of the rot certainly doesn’t show in the pictures. That makes it seem like a good option for someone in need of a drivetrain but maybe not much else.

That’s a shame; the interior looks like it’s in really good shape.

Damn... It looks so rust free in the potato pics. I have a MAJOR soft spot for box panther wagons!
