Kinja'd!!!

2010 Toyota Tundra Double Cab with the 5.7L V8. Only 72k on the clock. I feel like the guy in the Ferd Effteenthousand video. Gas mileage? Actually I got 17 on the highway driving from Wichita to KC yesterday after picking it up, so i’m actually happy. It fits in my garage (wasn’t sure if it would. See the guy across the street with his F150 that won’t fit), has all the features I wanted, and could tow my fucking house if I wanted to.

Fun fact - the Ferd Fteenthousand video was created by a comedy troupe from Halifax, Nova Scotia which is only 50 minutes from me :P

Well Nova Scotia pumps out some funny shit. Between Trailer Park Boys and that Ferd video, it must be a funny place.

Congrats! I really like the Tundra, I had a ‘12 Crewmax. I loved the interior room, didn’t love the exterior dimensions, which is why I’m in a Taco now. If we have a need for a full size in the future, it’ll be a Tundra.

Yea I drove one years ago when I was right out of high school and working valet and it was humungous. It just felt so big. But after driving it a bit, and parking it in my garage, it’s not as big as it seems. Yes it’s longer, taller and wider than my old Tahoe but it’s not excessive. I liked the Taco I had (13) but the towing capacity is low, and for the price those things are going for, it just made more sense to get a full sized. Plus it’s future proofing since i’ll have kids eventually and this has plenty of room for car seats, lots of airbags, and can move lots of people. Something that the Tacoma does have, but this makes just a little easier. My friend has a 2017 Tacoma and I loved driving it, but the Tundra just feels right for me.

The Tundra was the right truck for me when I had it. The Tacoma is the right truck for now. Who knows, all of my vehicles are already living on borrowed time. Keeping anything over 2 years is nearly unheard of for me. Even my wife is talking about wanting to trade her vehicle in.

Looks good! How is the interior quality on these? Thinking about looking at some for my dad around that age/mileage.

Minor rattling from the center console. Think it’s just a cover piece they have. I plan on finding out how to fix that. Other than that it’s pretty solid. Definitely looks basic, but it’s incredibly functional and holy crap there is storage everywhere. Every nook and cranny has a storage cubby.

We plan on keeping both our cars a long time. Our ‘16 Jetta has 20k miles on it, and we’ve had it for a year, so it will definitely last another 5 years+ as a commuter car.

The Tundra I honestly plan on driving until the wheels fall off. I used to think I would keep the Tahoe until it fell apart, but after realizing how much stuff it couldn’t do once I bought a house, I realized it just wasn’t the vehicle I could keep using.
