I’ve been a bit worried about this happening here. I’m about ten hour’s drive further north. Everything’s been so hot and so dry and the forests are all full of standing dead trees because of pine beetles. Helicopters on smoke patrol were pretty well constant, but thankfully so, because there’s been a couple small spots put out before they got too out of hand. Illegal campfires, cigarette butts, that sort of thing. We just got a decent rain soak the last couple days with more in the forecast so that’s good. I just hope the rain helped in all the other spots that haven’t been as lucky as mine.

It looks like the weather is changing and these fires will be out soon. August has been hell in Montana.
