My sister and her husband JUST moved out of Florida recently, specifically Sarasota. Now they are worried for their friends down there, hoping they can get out.
On the weather channel’s web coverage, the commentator said right before this screen shot, “these are sustained winds, not gusts. And this is when it starts to get crazy...”
Sunday evening, 154 mph sustained wind, that’s a direct hit from the eye. I mean, this is worst case scenario but it may actually happen. That Gulf water is very warm and this storm hasn’t hit major land mass yet.
Sure, the weather channel is hyped up, but the truth is this storm is going to wreak havoc, and already has.

My lady friend took her kids to Disney Monday, her flight out of MCO today was the last one for two days. We were a little concerned the amount of people leaving would somehow get her bumped or cause problems...but she’s in the air as of right now. Florida is in for a rough time.
