I forgot to post pictures. I also forgot to take them for the most part, I’ll do better next year. Here’s a dump in no particular order

Great photos and captions. This is better than any write up I’ve seen in my club newsletter or the SCCA magazine.

I have been picking up OPR (other people’s rubber) at Central Carolinas Region events, and may need to get a tire shaver, but frankly, I doubt it is as much of a problem as my limited skills.

I don’t think you need a tire shaver. As long as you drive enough between events to clean it off you’re probably fine. I didn’t shave between runs, though it looked like that became common on the last day as those competitors were picking up A LOT of it.

I don’t drive on them much between events, though, since my tires/wheels are dedicated for autocross. I take them off right after I get home, usually. But even though I note some OPR on them, I’m not particularly concerned such that I’m going to do anything about it at this point.

I’ve seen others shaving before an event, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to hear of those doing it during the event . . . very, very serious at nationals.

It’s not just a question of seriousness, it’s also the sheer number of cars. There’s 4-5 cars on course at a time all day for 4 days. There’s a ton of rubber to pick up.

I was headed north on 90/94, North of Madison and passed a couple of what I assume were autocrossers headed home. One was a 80's red BMW 3 series with about 9“ of front wheel spacers on an open trailer. The other was a 90's white 325? on open trailer pulled over on side of the road. Must have been in same class, headed home at same time. Anybody here?
