Kinja'd!!!

Gird your loins with truth and thunder, my friends. I bring thee pictorial tidings of a most glorious and gorgeous revival. A link to the details is provided at the bottom.

If you need some quick numbers then know a 5.0L NA Ford Coyote V8 fondled by Cosworth to 500 hp, a 50:50 weight distribution, can hit 200 mph, and has a sub 4-second 0-60 mph time all while being lighter and seemingly more lithe than a 911, F-Type, V8 Vantage...well, you know the kids at the front end of the six figure range by now.

You may proceed in giving your undercarriage the old, “How’s your father?” Goodwood and good morning, TVR Griffith.

I love how TVR mixes shapes that should work well together, and somehow makes it look good.

Take of the badges, and you could still guess it’s a TVR, without any real resemblance to older models. Maybe it’s just the batshit level of putting the exhaust outlets in front of the doors though :)

I figured Scary would head to bed right after the live reveal due to emotional and physical exhaustion. If it’s British then I’m ‘bout it, ‘bout it and TVR is the correct amount of crazy, always!

I was surprised by the rear too simply because I thought of the FT1. That means the new Supra will be referenced to the new Griffith. Lucky Supra!

Yep, that sure is a TVR. Or at least it ticks a lot of TVR boxes. Weird exhausts: check, weird button placement: check, derpy face: check. Seems like TVR is back!

I’m not completely in love with the styling, but I want it.

So, we get to have a shot at one in like 27 years? Or are they actually coming to the U.S.?

On paper this TVR is every enthusiast wet dream. Low weigh, 50/50 distribution, high revving N/A engine. RWD and a six speed manual.

I’m gonna catch some flak for this, but honestly it’s really disappointing.

TVRs of yore have always moved me with their designs. They were like nothing else on the road: muscular, swooping designs that looked great standing still or doing 360s in an airfield. This is not that. This has an air of playing it safe and trying to be like others. The rear reminds me too much of a Toyota FT-1 and the front is like a strange GTA combination of a 720S and Cobra.

It reminds me of one of those strange low production sports cars from a brand you’ve never heard of that shows up in Forza, like the Spada Codatronca or Devon GTX. Interesting, but not moving.

Interior’s decent, though.

i really do wish tvrs were available stateside. :( i would definitely look into one. the design, the concept of one, combined with the rarity would outweigh what clarkson has said are less than ideal driving dynamics.
