On an on ramp. It was beautiful. R8 was going over 70 before he hit the onramp. The person in the Z seemed to be driving casually until he noticed the Audi. Then he dropped a gear and blasted forward at “what the hell did I just see” speeds. They faded into the distance, neck and neck.

I know it’s completely illegal, highly unsafe, stupid, etc - but I still get chills as a pair of motors wind up... We get stupid/young tech money out here and while I don’t share it, I can still appreciate their toys.

Well said. I also like seeing the different car cultures joining together. Hard to beat exotics and Japanese sports-car/GT halo cars playing together. There was even a Mustang GT revving next to me during all this

It was one of those “I didn’t know we were racing until he was clearly trying to pass me” races. That said, not confident I would win anyway. It has gobs of pull once in motion, but first gear is a short-shifting cushy affair.

In my area stuff like this is common. There’s a Continenal GT that I play with on my way into work sometimes. I raced an F430 last week, though I won’t say who won. All I can say is that 12>8

I saw a brand new Phantom gun it from a dead stop recently.... Nowhere near the quickest car I’ve seen but probably the most enjoyable launch I’ve ever watched. Something about massive luxobarges giving it the gas... Gahhhhh

It’s not the fastest car in the family even, but there’s something so satisfying about power sliding a 5000 lb sedan around a corner. Also, I’ve found out through, uh, experiments that it’ll eat most 911s for breakfast, at least from a roll.
