Kinja'd!!!

I don’t see a Renault every day, but I did today. Immediately after I snapped this picture at the red light they made a right-hand turn from the middle lane against the red around the car in front of me and against the incoming traffic from the opposite left-turn lane who had the green arrow. To give her credit, she did use her turn signal to indicate her illegal turn. I guess this engranaje felt too important to go around the block.

It’s a good looking car.

The Kadjar and Captur are more common this side of the pond.

It is a good looking car. I was surprised to both see it and that it looked good. That type of car with Mexican plates is relatively unusual to see on the US side. The creative right turn, however, is not.

If it’s dumb but it works... Which seems par for the course when it comes to El Paso driving.

I think the Koleos and the Nissan X-Trail are twins under the skin.

From Wikipedia, that is my understanding also.

It’s no Talisman Grand Tour, though.

It’s nice. We don’t get the Talisman or the Espace in the U.K.

I guess they thought they wouldn’t sell enough to warrant making them in RHD.

I thought Renault gave up on RHD years ago, for some time all their UK exports were LHD as far as I remember, but I could be mistaken.

?

Renault has a reasonable range in the U.K.

Twingo, Clio (hatch only, Oz gets a saloon and estate version), Captur, Megane, Kadjar, Scenic, Grand Scenic, Koleos, Zoe and Twizy.

I know that, but for some time I thought it was selling only LHD cars in Britain although I think that’s mistaken. Wasn’t the Kangoo LHD-only for the UK along with the last Espace you got?

No, all RHD. They sell a lot of Kangoo vans.

Lol, really!? Nope they are all RHD. Hence why they don’t sell the Espace and the Talisman, because they are LHD only.

A car company wouldn’t sell many units if all that sold here was LHD cars.

Wikipedia told me they are the same car, neither of which is sold in the US.

While they tend to be terrible drivers in El Paso/Las Cruces, I do give them credit for being generally non-aggressive bad drivers.

Ah, for some weird reason I thought they were selling LHD something in the UK, but I must have been reading incorrectly, must just be the Talisman/Espace situation!

I prefer the Doblo to the Kangoo.

The Kangoo had loads of space above the front occupants heads, so it made those occupants look tiny.

I dunno, for me the Kangoo just has more joie de vivre, I guess.

I’ve found it to be far worse in El Paso than it ever was in Cruces. Everyone in Cruces is just slow. Here, the concept of waiting your turn at a four-way is nonexistent, and drivers who merge onto highways believe they have right-of-way DESPITE THE YIELD SIGN ON THE RAMP.

That would help explain the truly amazing number of cars I see down here with poorly done bodywork on the side that always suggested to me that they changed lanes into someone.
