You keep making posts that remind me of my childhood video games. Pretty sure a buddy and I played the hell out of Scorched Earth on a Thinkpad of that vintage...

Hadn’t heard of it until now, but I just looked it up, and see why you asked :P

Seems the guy who produced Pocket Tanks was involved with an earlier Amiga game named Scorched Tanks, that was based off of Scorched Earth.

Hours of playing this game with my best friend as a kid. Laptops in the mid 90s were something of a novelty to me, still. Does yours have a built in modem, or does it require an expansion card for dialup?

That’s exactly what I thought of when I saw the picture. What a great game.

Okay... How about liero?

I thought about that after I posted about the modem, I don’t remember Ethernet being standard fare until late 90s/early oos.

Would it even acknowledge a signal from a tethered hotspot/phone through USB? Shit, does it have USB?

Doubt that would work through USB 1.1

I remember first playing this game with friends, taking turns trying to destroy each other’s tanks. It was agonizing if you missed by a few pixels, but games became pretty funny once people had access to MIRVs (including that super death MIRV or whatever it was called) and annoyances like the dirt bombs.
