*Ignores video asks question* which old thing does Nissan need to redesign? Half the lineup must be nearly a decade old at this point.

I’m surprised they only started looking at headlight designs last year. Seems like such an important feature.

I drove a 2004 with that same steering wheel once.

But if they do that, their shit becomes heavier and more expensive.

It’s crazy how long they’ve let the Frontier linger on the vine.

I hope that means we get world-design front-ends on trucks instead of this “HURR DURRR I’MMA TRUCK” shit that ruins front visibility and aerodynamics, simply because american truck buyers are afraid of a sloping hood.

Its a 4 star here, but the IIHS does the small overlap test that the government doesn’t.

ANCAP is a technically non-government agency too (though state and federal governments are members) and it does the small overlap test. I’m not convince it’s exactly the same test here as the IIHS but here’s how it’s described:

In the real-world...

The frontal offset test simulates hitting another car of the same mass travelling at the same speed.

At our test centre...

40% of the car, on the driver’s side, makes contact with a crushable aluminium barrier at 64 km/h. The test car has two adult dummies in the front seat; the rear seat has an 18 month old child dummy and a three year old child dummy, both in appropriate child restraints.

Does Nissan still sell things in the US? I joke, but all their designs are ugly and/or ancient. I don’t recall seeing a new Nissan anything recently. They probably just blend I with all the other “melted jelly bean” cars. I blame the original 1980's Ford Taurus for jelly bean design. Mmmm, now I want jelly beans.

If you live in an area where people have money, Nissan seems to sell fewer cars than even FCA. They just have a terrible line these days. I wonder what happened to the scrappy and excellent Nissan of the 90s that put out some really great cars.

I was really hoping they’d build the IDX concept - but it was too good to be true.

I was hoping for it, too. They’re worse than Subaru in this regard...
