Kadri confuses me... I don’t know how to think of him. On the one hand, he’s a great player. Hard player. Not afraid of playing physical. And the penalties he does manage to draw help the team.

Were you not watching last season towards the end? The refs would call *nothing* that anyone else did against Kadri.
It was so bad that I theorized that if Brad Marchand did a low bridge on Kadri (as he is known to do), the refs wouldn’t call it as a penalty, because it’s Kadri (and they believe he’s a diver now).
And I agree that they need to get this soccer nonsense out of my hockey.

I was. He doesn’t draw very many penalties anymore, that’s for sure. He’s made his own bed on that one as far as I’m concerned though... he’s cried wolf a few too many times.
What pisses me off is when they call him for shit that was fine. Come on, his reputation is as a diver—if he doesn’t go down after a hit you can’t just make something up to send him off because you don’t like him. For example that hit on Ovi in the playoffs. That was shaping up to be a solid but perfectly ordinary check until Ovi decided to dodge and took it across one knee. That hit was no worse (from a rulebook perspective) than the one that took Polak out of the series. Polak tried to go around and couldn’t do it fast enough to get both legs out of the way. And guess who got the penalty.
