Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Just a quick waterless wash with a bit of trim restoration. I still need to clean the windows and get the extra restorer off the paint (and hit the areas I missed...)

The bottle said it was good for all colors, but it didn’t do much to restore the fading Oppo sticker on the back window. I guess I’ll have to source a new one as well as a replacement ‘Save the Manuals!’ sticker. The FSM is missing a parts of a couple of legs, but is otherwise OK. It’s black on dark tinted windows and a little difficult to see, but that’s by design. You never know how people in the Bible belt are going to react to a parody of religion.

It was starting to get a bit dark outside, which is good for photography but bad for cleaning. And the little ankle-biter bugs were arriving in force, necessitating a trip indoors for some hydrocortisone...

<3 the Mazda5 and especially in that color.

One year only in that color, and a 6MT, so it’s a bit of a unicorn...

That red does kinda remind me of my 128i.

Nice.

I didn’t want the red at first, but it was the only one with a manual so I grabbed it. In hindsight I’m glad I bought this one; my only other choices with the manual were silver and grey *yawn*. I’ve already had enough grey and black cars to last me a lifetime...

Red wasn’t my first choice and I kinda bought the 1 on an impulse. Looking back, it wasn’t the dumbest thing I ever did.

Grey wasn’t my first choice for the E90, I really wanted white or Le Mans blue, but when they only sold 1055 LCI E90s with a 6MT, you’re kinda limited. Plus it’s not like there were that many colors available.

Looks great! Mazda really went for it with those door swoopies

Thanks!

This was the only model on which they tried that styling trend, something they tried on a show car or two and what people thought all future Mazdas would look like. Some think it’s a bit over the top, especially when combined with the goofy grin up front, but I happen to like those two things. For comparison, look up the Nissan Lafesta Highway Star. Same car underneath, but with different styling. Like most Nissan products, it’s kind of dull. I’ll take odd character over dull any day of the week.

That’s more than the three I had to choose from. My 525i is Delphingrau, and I love that color with the hint of green in it. Combined with a beige interior (it works, trust me) and the 5MT, that one is also pretty unique. A friend had the same year, same color, same transmission, but with a Grey interior, and to be honest it was kind of dull by comparison.

I too like the happy face, I like a happy car instead of an angry car.

Leave the anger for Grumpy Cat there on the dashboard.

Something else that I like that others hate? I like that it says hello and goodbye. Yes, we’re talking about an inanimate object, but it does inject a little personality to go along with that smile.
