How hard could it be?

I have a handful of windows phones and tablets sitting around gathering dust. I’d like to turn one into a dedicated digital dashboard, but there are absolutely no good Torque-style apps in the windows store. How difficult would it be to make my own app?

I imagine pretty hard, but that’s not really my phone forte. xD

Now, do you want to sell any in that handful? :D

Probably insanely hard, but this is coming from a guy who didn’t know his monitor tilted back for over a year.

There is plenty of information on the internet about making apps. The tricky bit would be pulling the OBD information.

God I hated my Windows phone, but I keep it as a backup just in case.

Also known as the second most common phrase to follow “hold my beer” just behind “hey guys watch this.”

Have any programming experience? If not, probably pretty hard. if yo do, not terrible but any software project takes longer than you’ll expect and unless you have some desire to learn the ins and outs of Windows app creation you’re better off just buying a cheap Android tablet and using that(or seeing if one of your windows tablets can be switched to Android).

So basically if you’re in it for the project it wouldn’t be a terrible way to have some fun with programming, if you’re in it for the digital dash just buy an Android tablet.

Easy mode would be to sell or trade the stuff you have for a cheap Android tablet.

But teaching yourself how to code is a lifelong skill.

You could also try an android emulator on the 8 or 10 device.
