That’s what I needed to do the number 8 spark plug on my Silverado. I had to do it from underneath.

After that you could loosen your neighbors nut and bolts without getting up off the sofa.

I had to drop the transmission cross member and get the socket on with a contortionist act from the top and then have someone crank from underneath. Took 15 minutes to get the socket on then it came out super easy.

I had a 2001 Nissan Frontier and there was a spark plug all the way back and down a long way.

That type of job is why I always make sure not to piss off at least one of my skinny friends.

Yeah there was zero chance of a fat guy getting his hand behind the block to guide the socket on.

Oh so it turns out something did actually carry over to the Colorados from S10s... I remember mentioning between swear words that if that dirty such such clutch ever needed to replaced again I would sell the truck rather than go through this for a second time.

They have tools for just such a job:

https://www.amazon.com/SK-SKT-46175-Impact-Extension-Adapter/dp/B00061SNGQ/

Uses a 1/2" ratchet/impact on the drive side and a 3/8" drive socket on the other side so you can use a high powered 1/2" impact wrench which will have its torque diminished significantly over the 3 feet of torsional flex, so a 3/8" drive socket will survive.

Cheaper $20 version:
