I drove it 2.5 hours from the coast over the mountains to home. It is in good shape for a 15 year old car, and has only 148000 miles. It drives about exactly as I remember. Serviceable, but not particularly engaging. Perfect daily driver for one teenager, with his brother close behind.

Looks good. You should be able to find a replacement center armrest for a 2nd-gen Ranger or 90s/2000s Explorer. Beautiful color, reminds me of pop’s Bright Island Blue Ranger.

I remember I wanted one of these really bad when I was younger, I first saw them when I was stationed in the Philippines, these along with Expeditions were really popular over there back in the early 2000s.

I almost grabbed one when I was stationed in San Diego, but a larger family nixed that.

looks like a solid first car to me... im kinda stumped as to what to put my daughter in if she ever develops a taste for driving...she has the traffic awareness of a doorknob and generally only looks at the ground 3 feet ahead of her....im thinking one of these

at least she’ll be ok then :)

They all look like that, you know how hard it is to find a good one? I looked for years in the junkyard.

Very nice! The bed will come in handy once college starts.

My Acura Integra was very good at terrifying passengers on the highway when you dropped it into 4th and nailed the throttle but not so good when it came to moving day.

I know, I searched for months in LKQ and Pull-A-Part for a dark-grey OBD-II port cover and tried hunting for a replacement armrest for a 90s Ford Explorer that did a bridge over a removable bag.

Decent trunks. The only issue we had with my mother’s was the back window would have issues going up in the cold. Had to give it a little help

That interior takes me back to the 96 Explorer we had growing up (it was even a V8 AWD model and green, as any 90's SUV should be). That was also the vehicle I really learned to drive on. That armrest should be easy enough to find. Our has developed the hole on the driver’s side after only a 3-4 years old and less than 50k. Back in the day, the Ford dealers kept them in stock since they were replaced so frequently.
