You building the patches yourself?

I’ve done a few but you don’t see it much actually working in collision repair. It’s fun if you can take the time to really get into it. Not something most people want to pay for though.

yeah, most of em. nothing available outside of floors. this is the third or fourth summer it’s coming to visit. I’m doing it at least in part because it couldn’t be done. Not a good car to fix up. BUT, my customer’s old man drove it from 65 till 2007, daily. It’s the family car, so I understand.

He’s willing to pay, and is not a muscle car guy (don’t get me started). I did my years in a bodyshop, but a little hole in the wall place that did many grades of resto work. I invested a decade learning how to fix old cars only to find I really dislike a lot of the classic car community. So I pick my projects carefully. Sometimes not because they’re easy but because they’re hard.

oh, it’s not going show quality. It’s going to be “looks okay and safe to drive” quality.

I see nothing wrong with that whatsoever. It’s either that or a junkyard, and that would be a shame.
