T: “Hey D you got a pen I can borrow?”

D: “Yeah here borrow by Bic”

T: “Thanks man”

D: “Damn T your penmanship is way better than mine!”

T: “What can I say? I Bic harder than you.”

Great photos. Can’t say I really care for the mods to the car all that much though.

Very nice. Red (along with white) can be hard to photograph.

It’s on airbags. It rides and drives really nice. The bolt-ons and tune are a riot as well.

Very nice! I’m really digging the shot in the gravel with the reflections from the refinery on the Golf’s panels.

How did you have your camera set for the shoot?

Yeah the one with the lights reflecting is one of my favorites. I need to photoshop out the power poles and wires in the background.

For the motion shots I was using my shit little kit lens because it had optical image stabilization but the rest of those were a 35mm f/1.8 Nikkor prime lens on my D3100. As the light waned I switched to a tripod but I was generally shooting ISO100 F/1.8 and whatever shutter speed made my metering happy. The last three shots were done at F/4, I believe, on a tripod so I could get the whole car in focus.

I actually like the power lines in the background. It really adds an industrial-urban feel to the shots.

I know the feeling when it comes to kit lenses. I did a photoshoot with my buddy Bytemite and his new Prelude, and I was using my Canon EOS Rebel T5i and a 18-55mm EF-S lens with a CPL filter for some night shots. It actually worked out pretty well, but because the lens couldn’t go below f/4, so I compensated with 3200 ISO and 1/20 frame rate while using a tripod. It worked out pretty well, but it would have been better to use my Canon FD f/1.8 50mm lens and a slightly lower ISO.

If only I had a CPL filter for that lens!

Yeah, I had a CPL for most of these shots.
