Fall has arrived a skosh early here south of the ‘Burgh, and I couldn’t be happier.

It’s about the same temperature here but the humidity is less than half of that. It MIGHT get in to the 80 late in the week. I’m really looking forward to that.

That’s what the Bay Area should be looking like.

Where are you located?

I’m in the inland part of the PNW. The part that is drier and less temperate than what most people think of as the PNW.

And still too goddamn hot. I checked weather earlier on the Peninsula and it was 87 and I thought “wow! It’s cooler!” Bullshit, is what that is.\

Did some solo flying practice this morning and stopped after 1/2 hour because it was too damn hot in that plane...

Parts of Oregon and northeastern Ca are desert.

152? Density altitude an issue at all?

I want the nighttime 60s back so I can cool my house down.

Piper Archer (PA-28-181)...yeah, it took a bit more runway to get off the ground.

14deg less? It’s only about 14deg here the first place. Raining too.

This was my Uncle Don’s Cherokee which he owned and flew in Somerset, Pennsylvania. This was the last time I flew with him, back in 2007. It was a very sad day when he had to sell that airplane.

Where is “here,” again? Ireland?

That same day was the highest temperature ever recorded in San Francisco.

Ah! The Cherokee Six. One day, when money is no object, I would like to have one of these. I generally like Cherokee’s and this would allow me to carry a few folks (technically can seat 4 in a normal Cherokee, but with the fat-ass pilot and narrow back seat, it’s...limited). My instructor has the Saratoga, which is the newer version... Why did he have to sell it? could no longer fly?

Also: My one bitch about cherokees, is that damn little window thing. That’s the only window you can open up, which is a bitch if you’re anywhere over 75F...

He had to sell it because his eyes got too bad: macular degeneration. I think he’d been diagnosed with cancer by then as well. In the later years, I don’t think he ever got more than 40 or 50 miles away from the patch.

Bummer. Sorry to hear that.

Did a quick rainstorm roll through your parts about 1/2 hour ago? We just got a quickie which dropped the temps a bit....

No, though it’s been humid and a marine layer, so certainly could have dropped a few sprinkles.

Where are you? We ought to have a coffee sometime.

Parts of central Washington too. I’m in Spokane which is further northeast so not part of that desert but that also means it’s colder here in the winter so snow is common.

I’m over on this side of 92. Yeah - we’ll have to hit one of the C&C’s around here, sometime...
