The DOHC Stutz I8 blew my mind almost as much as the Wills V8 with gear-driven SOHC. Wish I had taken a picture of that one. Such interesting tech in century-old cars.

Thanks!

They had it hiding in the back, but it caught my eye while I was admiring some engines in the 1920s luxury cars. Ran straight over to check it out.

Where is this museum?

From what I’ve read part of the reason for a lack of a traditional dash in the Tucker was so a passenger could duck and cover in front of the seat in case of an impending crash.

And wide open ideas about design in the mid century period too. I wouldn’t mind being locked in there with a pizza.

Awesome pics! I love that little Messerschmitt and it’s weird bomber-style steering wheel!

A. OMG TATRA....I WANT TO GO THERE AND SEE THAT THING. LOVE Tatras!
B. Isetta and Messerschmitt ftw - Messerschmitts were surprisingly capable for microcars!
C. That Auburn is GORGEOUS.

It was a lovely departure from the typical 50s/60s American muscle stuff a lot of places seem to tend toward. They even had a century-old electric runabout that I somehow failed to get a picture of.

:O

Was the electric ride a tall phone-booth looking thing? Baker Electric? Those were surprisingly common at one point!

Yup, looked mostly like this one. I think the lights were a little different. They’d replaced the original 2v batteries with several new 12v batteries.
