As usual, here is a photodump of things I found interesting at the Charlotte Cars and Coffee today. This is not representative of the actual turn out in any way. I didn’t even take pictures of the supercars this time except the Miura and the SuperLite. The fun question is: Would you rather buy a 2005 Lotus Elise for $32,000 or a 1989 Lotus Esprit Turbo for $20,000?
The two cars are so different I don’t think anyone would really cross-shop them, but both appeal to me. As you might imagine, there were other cars with for sale signs, but these two paired up in my imagination.
Oh, yeah, and apparently there was some electric car road rally that was representing. Plus a new Acura NSX. And, yes, in this location all of the spots are oriented east-west, which make early morning lighting annoying for photographs.
And did Aston Martin ever race under a Gulf livery? I know it is applied to a lot of cars, but the C3 Corvette pictured looks much better to my eye than the Aston Martin.

The 1989 Lotus Esprit Turbo for $20,000 all day any day. Mostly because of Sharon Stone. Good god those movies are great!

Elise because of reliability and parts availability. Also I think its a better looking car and more fun.

I’ll take that Fiat x/19 and Mura but am I one of the few who thinks the Gulf livery is overused?
