Note the bottom max numbers. Ford: “You can have fun or use AC, but not both!”

That coolant temp is really concerning.

Woo! Hot Hatch = Hot engine.

I got the Mountune radiator and it sorted it out for me. I would imagine the Mishi one would do that too.

What does your oil temp normally run? (something like 195-205 ish?)

Oil, on a hot day, runs 215 ish on the interstate at 80.

not bad at 80 - I’m 205-210 completely stock, (first time I’ve had a oil temp gauge - trying to figure out what’s normal.)

You could try something like Redline water wetter, it will lower temps a bit....but race cars don’t have A/C so you could just rip that out.

I plan on upgrading the radiator and intercooler soonish.

I know! It triggers this cool little red light!

The general consensus on water wetter from what I’ve researched is that coolant already has the main components of water water in it it’s mostly for water only applications. Like coolant light. Didn’t do much for me

Doing some research into hot temps I would say I’d be freaking out at 250. The Toyota cooling engineer I was in contact with about my gx said 240 is head gasket danger zone for aluminum heads

220-230 in traffic is normal according to my friend who is a Ford mechanic. Ford massively screwed up with the radiator/thermostat. By the time the thermostat opens, the radiator is already heatsoaked. My friend is currently looking at radiators and oil coolers for his, as he experiences these temps fairly often. I checked the fluids and everything is fine. From my experience, like Ford and radiators, Toyota sucks at head gaskets.

Toyota sucked at head gaskets in the 90s but now it’s now a concern about the head warping not the gasket. Any aluminum head isn’t going to like those temps for long. I wonder if it’s their thermistor reading artificially high.

I don’t know, could be actually. Because it’s the first vehicle I’ve gotten hot that didn’t smell or sound hot.

It’s this thing that makes commuting during the summer in the deep south bareable. What it is, is it uses this thing almost like a supercharger to cool the airflow into the car, except unlike a supercharger, it robs power to rob more power.

So remove the blockage, pull the A/C condenser? Or be more boring and get a bigger radiator.....also I’d check the temp the 250 is really hot could be a sensor issue....unless you were driving full out for a while in the heat.

For what it’s worth I agree about checking the sensor readings
