I’m waiting at the VW dealer, so I walk around the lot. Aside from the Golf R with aftermarket exhaust in service in front of me, there are really no cars I want to look at. Anyone feel differently?

The Rabbit pickup survivor is by far the most interesting. Manual, of course. I like the aftermarket hood locks, this thing has been places.

The Dune trim on the new Beetle looks nice. Double head old Beetle bonus.

And before I got to post this, went for a ride with the tech working on my GTI, and we seem to have traced my door rattle to the sunroof. Sound can be so deceptive.

Happily the rattle showed up before we finished the drive, or I would have had it appear on my drive home!

Ah, the double headed Beetle with the popular “engine delete” option.

Also, that dune beetle needs to be moved from the no parking zone. Why do dealers all do this? Grrr.

Those rabbit trucks are the coolest. Would love to own one, but they’re nearly impossible to find in any kind of reasonable condition. Nice spot with those “hood locks”
Unconventional hot take: as inconsistent as it has been, I really enjoy our ‘15 Beetle. I don’t even mind the cute blue color.

The Dune needs higher approach and departure angles.

My friend had a chance at a diesel rabbit truck, it was on Craigslist and we are both regretting not going to check it out. They guy priced it way too low from the looks of the pictures.

Actually, it has exhaust on one end, so may have an engine.

Yes, it doesn’t live up to my expectations of the name, but still looks nice.

Last year, I passed a Rabbit truck just like that almost every day on my back highway commute. He would always wave at me when I was driving my Scirocco. I finally saw him at our annual Old Fort VW Club car show. It had a late-model diesel swap. It was glorious.

I have been really enjoying my beetle turbo. Quick, looks quirky, decent sized hatch, nice interior. Could use a little stiffer suspension but not sure if id want it lower for what it is. I like the subtle changes on the dune model.
