The interior is completely stock, except for the wooden shift knob my wife bought me from Nostalgic Grains. I am thinking of a few things. What do you think of these seats?

Kinja'd!!!

The seats that are in there are in pretty good shape, but I don’t think they are original stock, so I am not that obsessed with keeping them. I kind of dig these. They have a vintage Japanese car look, and I am thinking about buying a pair.

Also, although I do have the stock steering wheel, it honestly is the least pleasant part of driving the Sunchaser. It is an enormous plastic wheel, with the classic 80s Toyota upside down horn button so they did not have to make different left and right buttons.

I am seriously considering a Nardi steering wheel. Something like this.

Maybe I am nuts. I don’t know. Just ideas. What do you think?

Fixed back seats in a convertible without a roll bar is a fantastic idea.

I’ve been looking for replacement seats for my CJ, and damn are they expensive! Even a crappy lowback is still over $130. I’d get that steering wheel over seats any day.

I looooove wooden Nardi wheels. They just look classy as hell.

Question on your current seats- are you comfortable in them on long drives? If so, don’t mess with them. The seats above look cool - not sure how they’d be on a 2 hour cruise, though. Comfort is key—

If you change the seats, maybe consider getting cooling ventilated ones. Not having sticky back and butt on a sunny day sounds like a huge upgrade.

Totally go for the wood wheel.

As far as seats go, how much room do you have? I’d just be concerned that the seat style you pictured would not be the most comfortable to sit in for long.

Do any of these strike your fancy?

The “basket handle” is a reinforced roll bar.

Love the seat style. Are you sure they’d fit? Something similar is on the list for me as well if I ever decide to ditch the racing seats

I don’t like the idea of fixed-back seats like those. I want to adjust my backrest angle dammit!

So instead, here’s an idea that I think will fit the vibe of your car nicely, especially with a Nardi wheel. Procar makes a reclining bucket seat called the Rally , that’s available in a houndstooth pattern!

Here they are in a ’68 Camaro, with matching upholstery in the back.

I think this would look perfect in your Sunchaser.

DOOOOO EEEEETTTT

Those seats look great, if not the most comfortable looking.

I’ll jump on the Nardi wheel support train though. It’s amazing what they can bring to the interior of older cars.

Those seats look great. Much like seats many use in vintage Porsche 911.

Some stores sell similar seats here too. They look nice but the sitting position felt utterly horrible for me. Test sit before buying.
