That back end is goofy as all hell but the more level beltline looks almost more expensive/luxurious. It’s a huge-ass brick like an old Conti. Neato. And yes, I’m going to be posting these as I make them until I run out of steam.

I sincerely believe that is one of the main reasons for the collapse of the full-size market. I mean, it was going to be declining anyway because of crossovers, but there’s a big difference between a gradual, manageable decline and falling off a cliff.
Big cars just aren’t big enough vs. midsize models anymore, so people just opt for the cheaper midsize. Automakers have done a terrible job maintaining the value proposition of a larger car.

I just realized that what I like about the 500/Taurus of the 2000s is the level beltline. It brings some class and is unique these days. This shows what would have happened if that style had carried on to the 2010 and up Taurus and I dig it.
Only down side would be cutting into the Taurus’s best in class trunk space

Easy to do, for some reason even though I hate it, I think it has the potential to be a future classic, like waaaay in the future, as one of those weird, unusual cars you see at a car show and you’re like “that existed”. It always struck me as a late 1990's concept which was turned into a road car with little to no changes.
