Debating what full-frame to buy, and whether or not to wait for a new model. I currently use a Nikon D5500. I love it because of its fully-articulated screen which makes it super easy to frame the shot when holding the camera at weird angles (I almost exclusively shoot in portrait, often at odd high/low angles).
I know the obvious upgrade is the D750, but it only has a tilt-screen, which is useless when taking portrait shots. Unfortunately, that’s a deal-breaker for me. Meanwhile, Canon makes the 6D Mark II which seems to be everything I want, except I’ll have to buy new lenses. Also reviews of the 6D indicate that it’s a pretty half-assed camera with quite a few dumb flaws (no flash, no 2nd card slot, 2% cropped viewfinder, etc)
Or maybe I should just wait and hope the upcoming D750 replacement has a fully-articulated screen?
If I do switch to Canon, any suggestions on how to sell old camera equipment? I don’t have the original boxes anymore, so do I just bubble wrap it in a random box and sell it on Ebay? (Yes, I’ve never used Ebay before).

B&H has a decent trade-in or used purchasing process. I’ve sold several lenses and bodies through them. Payout may not be as high as CL or Ebay but its tough to beat for convenience.

Sounds like you’re not sold on the Canon, so waiting it out seems like a decent option.

I needed someone to say it for me.
I’m more than satisfied with the photo quality of the D5500, but it gets annoying having to stand 11 miles away from the subject to fit it in frame with my 50mm lens (which is more like an 85mm thanks to the crop sensors).

I’ve seen people sell their camera bodies and maybe a few lenses on Craigslist, so that could be an option.
I’m a Canon guy myself, but I often see Nikon equipment fetch slightly higher prices. I’d say hold out until the new D-series comes out, and then sell the old camera body to finance the new camera.

Wow, their superstore is just a 10 minute walk from my office! I like this option. Just like trading in a car, I’m happy to take a lowball offer if it means I can get rid of it immediately.

If you’ve never been, it’s in insanely cool store. Automated conveyer belts and tubs taking stuff everywhere. If you want to hold a camera or lens, that’s the place to do it. There’s an extensive used department too.
Ironically, they don’t allow photos to be taken inside.

That was my first thought too. Sounds like you just need a wider fast prime lens...At least for now. Plus if you have a lot invested in glass already it really doesn’t make sense to take a big hit just to walk away from it and start over.
And I am saying this as someone firmly entrenched in the Canon camp. While we would love you you to come over to the dark side, I could never in good conscience recommend someone to abandon their collection of gear to move to a completely new platform. Even if it is a superior one. :D
