That’s CP all day, every day. Even the base model costs $41k CAD after taxes. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could justify spending that much on a Miata. I’m curious to see sales numbers on these.

Here in the US it starts at $31,555 and nobody in the US mentions taxes in car prices because even though we all pay some kind of tax or another it varies wildly from state to state.

Fair. Most provinces in Canada (aside from Alberta and the territories) pay anywhere between 11 and 15 percent sales tax, so it’s not a huge range.

Yup, we Canadians really get the shaft on some cars. I’d totally but a Miata, but starting at $33k before tax, with no options, is a little too rich for my blood.

You are at V8 pony car prices at that point...

Even with US pricing before taxes, one can pick up a Mustang or Camaro with a V8 for not much more than the $32K Mazda wants for a Miata RF.
