I’d DD the shit out of a Bolt. Assuming it doesn’t have playstation steering like the cruze. Even on a DD that would drive me crazy.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Also I really like how it looks. Fight me!

I would rather have a fit sport and the leftover cash in my pocket. It would take too long to make up the price difference in gas with my commute.

The sad fact is that chevy just cant make a desirable passenger cars. No one wants a Malibu, Cruze, etc. People buy them because its a trusted name and “ come in now for $199 a month!1!!1!! !” But that doesn’t help you sell the hot new thing, because if chevy makes it, its not hot.

I like it as well. Given my 2 mile commute and the fact that I’ve driven only about 150 miles since the 21st, range anxiety would pretty much be a non-issue for me (as long as I kept a gasoline-powered car). I’ve been looking at used Volts, but as a renter I don’t currently have a place to charge an electric car so I’ll have put off my shopping until after I buy a house.

1) You can control a metric shit ton of stuff through the tocuhscreen like chime volume, max volume when the radio turns on (actually sounds handy), and what not.

Volume and A/C appear to be physical buttons/knobs, but not explicitly stated.

2) Tells you a projected minimum and maximum range. Which would be nice for an EV.

3) Brake lights on the bumper for when the hatch is up. rear turn signals are on the bumper as well.

4) Pretty quick. 6.X 0-60 which is better than a base Civic.

5) Has good visibility.

6) pattern on the seats is asymmetrical, but symmetrical to the whole car.

That’s pretty much all the KWERKS!

I know. I think that’s what’s holding back EVs. The people who are best suited for them, driving wise, can’t charge at home.

It would be great if we had some of those premium parking spots with chargers at my office, but here in the Midwest that seems to be commie thinking. A week or two ago I posted a picture of parking at work, with my little Mazda dwarfed by the massive pickups and SUVs that my co-workers drive, so it’s unlikely we’ll jump on the eco-friendly bandwagon anytime soon.

That’s always a tough argument to beat. For fun, let’s do maths:

Fit Sport MSRP: $17,500
Bolt MSRP: $36,620 - $7,500 Federal EV tax credit (assuming necessary tax liability)

Difference: $11,620

Maintenance on a Fit isn’t going to be expensive, maybe $150/year driving 15,000 miles, so that’s almost negligible.

Fuel cost for traveling 15,000 miles per year with an estimated average MPG of 31 (EPA combined for Fit manual) and fuel price of $2.50/gallon would be $1209.67 per year.

So, pretending that electricity is free, you’d have to drive a Bolt for eight and a half years before coming out ahead.

I would be amazed if the battery pack made it 8 and a half years.

I was searching though my comments for something and my “Only a 34 DD? Riot” comment looks really odd out of context.

I’m super tempted to get a Focus Electric, only because with NJ State rebates, and Ford A-Plan, I can get one for around $11k new.

Add the $750 for a Gen-2 charger and I have 80 miles of travel at my disposal every morning I need it (I don’t. I went 132 miles last month total in my car.) But the truth is i don’t actually need a car, so buying a new one to replace one that is paid off and not being used would be epicly stupid.

My previous job (where I was driving 3 days a week) had EV chargers for employees, free. I’d be driving an EV right now if I still worked there.
