I am experiencing a certain amount of schadenfreude watching the new people at the AV Club complain about Kinja. Am I a bad person?
Of course, I am also experiencing happiness because AV Club is covering genre better than io9 does. It’s almost (not quite, but almost) like having old io9 back.

Nowhere exotic in mind. There’s a long(ish) hike I’ve been wanting to do for awhile but haven’t really had the time to do it. Hopefully this weekend!

I’d like to go to Scotland, in answering your title question. Would be nice to see my heritage.
Alternatively, doing a road trip of Eastern Canada (and technically France) would also be pretty sweet.

I’m working so hard to get out of the Greys over at AV Club, I want so much to post there. They also haven’t seemed to got their kinja quirk yet, where each blog seems to develop a weird quirk of the community. Jezebel for example LOVES the like button more then any other blog.

I’m planning on returning to Japan hopefully in 2018 but 2019 if I can’t make the finances work. I’ve done Tokyo already so I want to get out of the cities where Mt. Fuji is calling me. I think it’d be a cool hike challenging enough to talk about but not so challenging you need to be an Alpanist to do it.

I just asked, pointed out that I liked what they were covering, could see myself spending a lot of time there, had been on io9 since the beginning, and they ungreyed me. If you have a long posting history an another gawker blog and have been less of a dick than me (not difficult!) that may be all you need.

I’m trailer camping this weekend, bachelor party float & camp next weekend, going to Austin, TX weekend after that.
Next year will be mountains, smokey or west not sure yet.

I’ve got a few places I am going soon, Moab, great basin, the San Rafael Swell (pretty excited for that last one!) but where do I want to go? Not to say that those places aren’t places I want to go (because I really do) but it terms of places Im not likely to go anytime soon? I would like to get back to Norway. And I’ve always wanted to visit Japan. Australia would be high on my list but there would be so much to do there I think I would have a hard time with the kind of visit I would have.

haha. I guess I’m too old to be listening to Die Antwoord. I don’t think I’ll listen to them much longer, but there’s this woman I know, she was heading off to somewhere to see a group play. I had to just about drag their name out of her. That done, it was off to youtube and wiki and spotify.
I don’t know why that girl was so reluctant to tell me the name. Maybe she, too, thought I was too old for Die Antwoord. Which I am. Or I don’t know. Maybe she was embarrassed about the content of their tunes. No matter. : )

How about hosting next week? (There are 12 blogs now, so it’ll take 3 months to get back to oppo, at which point we both would have forgotten...) I basically pulled hackerspace out of the hosting rotation since it hosts whenever Tigersan does.

I may or may not live in that place we have just mentioned. I have boundless enemies, who would LOVE to know where I’m at. Most of them are here at kinja. Still, to meet real Canadians, and real locals from the region of western Canada, is almost like coming out of a nut hatchery and talking to a normal human type person. : )

Yikes, I’m sorry to hear that.
I wouldn’t consider myself local yet, but yes, it’s always great to encounter other Canadians on Kinja and the internet. It’s kind of strange meeting up with other Kinja authors too (I met up with a bunch back when I lived in Toronto and Ottawa). It’s a bit refreshing, especially with how American-centric Kinja can be.
