Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

meaty front tire, no fenders, no turn signals, all the superfluous trim and bullshit stripped away, straight handlebars. Hnnng. This one also has a ported and polished cylinder head and supposedly is good for 100+mph. Sweet.

“rebel is a chick bike”

Damn straight. Vroom vroom, scoot scoot. All bikes are chick bikes.

I would have kept and modded my V-Star 250, if there were any bloody parts available over here. As it is, pretty much anything would have had to have been ordered from WeBike in Japan.

nice Rebel. Where is the air cleaner, BTW?

As a 5'6" 135lb manlet: rebel is the ideal size. So comfy.

That rebel does not appear to have one. I don’t particularly agree with that decison. I’d at least get a shitty Autozone cone filter and put it on there. The factory airbox is garbage though.

Well, hello there, friend!

I haven’t gone with the fat tires yet. On my wheels it would make for a sketchy, so I have to figure out what I’m going to do there. Good luck with the project it looks like a great concept!

So... all turns must be done one handed (for signaling), water flies right into the face if it rains (no front fender) and their is nothing keeping junk from being sucked into the carbs?

Don’t get me wrong, I love a stripped down bike - I daily a chopped up bike that doesn’t have a speedo or tach. I’m not sure these are things I would do to a bike I actually planned on riding though. That said I do think the exhaust looks pretty cool!

The signals on our rebel are fucked anyways and I found hand signals more natural, I have no intention of ever riding in the rain, but an air filter is definitely a necessity. I don’t understand why this person lacks one.

Sweet. Were the lower bars a comfort improvement and do you have any issues with not having a front fender?

I originally had dirtbike style bars on it. The lower bars gave it a more sporty feel and look. Comfort is about the same. I live in Phoenix where there is no moisture, ever, so being fenderless doesn’t affect me. It will spray water at my face if I run over any. I get some fork twist and need to install a brace to mitigate it. I’ve gone over 100mph on her and it feels sketchy but fun.

Just to warn you- an airbox/filter is not superfluous. Particulate filtration is in fact quite necessary to keep a bike running long term, and the airbox is if you want to ride in the rain ever.

Although that is one of the best looking rebels I’ve seen...

For sure, I don’t get why she didn’t put a cone filter on this bike. That’s certainly what I’d do, because the stock Rebel filtration system is apologetically godawful.

Most Honda airboxes look awful, but are actually very well engineered. I can speak to specifically 70's era Hondas, but those that want the pod filter look will have to spend an obscene amount of time and tuning to simply get the bike running almost as well as it did with the airbox, and they never run better...
