Well the good news is that it wasn’t a full time 4wd and it was just spinning the open diff. Of course if it had a G80...that could have been bad.

A G.80 would break down all the time, and then be too wide to tow on normal roads. Not a good combination.

but only 3 wheels, so thats a plus. One less dolly needed.

PRobably locked up the rear diff. The G80 (eaton mlocker) locks up when speed bias reaches 100 rpm between left and right rear wheels. He’s been dragging around a truck with a locked rear axle. Thats gotta be good for it.

Wonder if the tow truck driver was towing illegally parked cars? They often drive ratty trucks like that one, and they DGAF about breaking shit.

Although, those guys would have never bothered with a dolly for the one wheel at all...
